Journal, containing the preliminary agreement between Mme. Bacler de Leval and Jean Baptiste de la Roche, on the one hand, and William Duer and Henry Knox, on the other, relating to the sale of land in eastern Maine for a French settlement to be known as Fontaine Leval (now Lamoine, Me.); diary recording the voyage of Mme. Leval's party from New York to eastern Maine, and back to Boston, in quest of a suitable location for settlement; and a section entitled "Observation Générales sur le Paye."
